NPP-Denmark Mourns Alhaji Aliu Mahama

The New Patriotic Party, Denmark Branch wishes to join millions of Ghanaians and other well-wishers from around the world in expressing our shock and sadness of the passing of H.E. Alhaji Aliu Mahama. We extend our condolences to the bereaved family particularly his beloved wife Hajia Ramatu Mahama. May Allah give her, his family and our dear party strength and guidance as we struggle to deal with such a great loss. Sir, your departure has left a huge vacuum in the family, Muslim community, our great party and Ghana as a whole. The diligence, humility, decency and loyalty with which you conducted yourself as a public servant including your two-term Vice Presidency marked you out as one of those rare politicians of our fourth republic.

H.E the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama dedicated himself in fighting one of the major challenges in our society-indiscipline-we hope his departure will reawaken a deep sense of discipline in our social life and politic. We are also aware of the immense role you played in grooming and mentoring many young politicians in your beloved northern region and Ghana as a whole. Again we are greatly inspired by your unflinching commitment to the principles and values of the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition. The cause of which you were promoting on the campaign trails when you tragically fell ill and never recovered. On this note we in the NPP-Denmark strongly urge the NPP leadership and its massive following to work harder than ever to ensure a decisive victory to honour such a great hero of our party and nation.

Alhaji, you served your nation well and you were a blessing to mother Ghana but Allah knows why he had to take you away from us at this moment in time. You will forever be missed. Rest in Peace Sir!
