NPP demands apology from NDC

Accra, Nov. 13 GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has demanded an apology from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for accusing the Party of complicity in the recent motor accident involving Alhaji Mohammad Mumuni, NDC Presidential Running Mate.
A statement from the National Campaign Secretariat of the NPP signed by Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Minister of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City, said the NPP had noted a statement by Alhaji Mumuni “dismissing attempts to give a partisan twist to his recent most unfortunate accident.
“We find honourable his exhortation not to blame the accident on any political party in order to score ‘cheap political points’.”
The statement said the only man, who really knew what truly happened had spoken and urged Alhaji Mumuni to prevail on Dr Josiah Ayeh, NDC General Secretary and Mr Rojo Mettle-Nunno of the NDC Campaign Team, to retract their statements, which linked the accident to NPP. The statement asked Dr Ayeh and Mr Mettle-Nuno to apologise to the people of Ghana “for the haste to insult their intelligence”.
It also called on Professor John Evans Atta Mills, NDC Presidential Candidate, to apologise for not making any “attempt to bring into line those whose pronouncements went against all the norms of solemnity and civility associated with such misfortunes”.
