Agona Swedru (Central Region), 29 Oct. The Agona West constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr Mohammed Adu, has called on members of the party to take the re-opening of the voters register on Friday, October 31, seriously to brighten the chances of the party winning the next elections. He said due to the lack of adequate preparation and logistics, most of the constituencies could not perform creditably as expected in the last general elections and urged them to redouble their efforts to assist the party to wrestle power from the ruling NDC party. Mr Adu made the call when he addressed the constituency members of the party at Agona Swedru. The Chairman urged members and supporters who are 18 years old and those who were outside the country last year to register. He said there is the need for the party to start organizing its supporters to raise money for the next general elections, saying that members of the constituency have agreed to contribute individually towards party funds. Mr Adu advised party agents who will take part in the registration exercise to be vigilant. He said so long as the party is a human institution, its supporters will have their differences but these should not be allowed to disintegrate the party. Mr Adu called on the faction of the constituency executive who have broken away due to misunderstandings to bury their differences. Mrs Victoria Sackey, Assistant women’s organizer, expressed concern about poor sanitation at the Mandela market and called on the Agona district assembly to address the situation.
