NPP constituencies in Twifo-Hemang area hold elections

Twifo Praso (C/R, Oct 03, GNA – Mr John Agyeman Poku on Sunday retained his position as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Twifo-Ati-Morkwa constituency for the third consecutive time. He polled 51 out of 75 votes cast, during the elections to climax the constituency’s delegates’ conference held at Twifo Praso Other officers elected were First Vice Chairman, Paul Prince Antwi, Peter Kofi Dzasa, Second Vice Chairman, Mr Prince Kojo Arhin, Secretary and Mr Anthony Boafo Agyei, Assistant Secretary. The rest were Mr Ibrahim Quaye, Treasurer, Mr George Kofi Ampoma, Youth Organiser, Mr Joseph Kwame Boadu, Organiser and Mrs Marian Ninepence, Women’s Organiser.

At another delegate’s conference at Ankakor, all the executive members except the women’s organiser, Miss Christiana Adwowa Nyama, were returned unopposed for Hemang-Lower-Denkyira Constituency. They were Mr Emmanuel Appiah Kubi, Chairman, Messrs Opoku Mensah Katakyia and Alhaji Abudulai, First Vice Chairman and Second Vice Chairman respectively and Mr Asamoah Mainoo, Secretary. The rest were Nana Kwesi Hagan, Assistant Secretary, Mr Emmanuel Kobena Agyeman, Treasurer, Mr Yaw Yaro, Youth Organiser, and Mr Solomon Opoku Organiser.

In an address, Dr Kweku Ghartey, the Central Regional Chairman of the party, said the NPP was determined “to sweep” all the 19 parliamentary seats in the Central Region during the 2008 general elections as well as retain power.
