NPP chairman apologises to colleagues

Saltpond, June 29, GNA – Mr James Ehuren, Mfantseman West Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has apologised to the other chairmen in the Central Region for not consulting them before holding a news conference last March, declaring support for Mr Isaac Edumadze, the then Regional Minister.

In a statement copied to the GNA at Saltpond, Mr Ehuren expressed regret about the role he and his counterpart for Twifu Eti-Mokwa played in the news conference and asked for forgiveness.

The other constituency chairmen were aggrieved with the two for not consulting them before declaring the party’s support for the Regional Minister.

Mr Ehuren said the news conference was without malice against them neither was it to sideline them.

This is not time to create divisions within the party, Mr Ehuren said and appealed to the other chairmen not to regard them as traitors, he said and appealed to them to put the incident behind them and to unite to work harder to ensure that the NPP won all the seats in the region in the 2008 general elections.
