NPP Cautions Security Agencies

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Yesterday asked the security agencies to be wary of people or group of persons who might want to use the name of the party to organise a counter demonstration to stop NDC’s demonstration planned for Tuesday.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Yesterday asked the security agencies to be wary of people or group of persons who might want to use the name of the party to organise a counter demonstration to stop NDC’s demonstration planned for Tuesday.

“We suggest that any person caught in NPP T- shirt causing trouble tomorrow should be arrested and prosecuted,” a statement in Accra signed by Mr. Dan Botwe, General Secretary of the NPP said.

The NPP denied that the party was organising a counter demonstration and cautioned its supporters against any such acts. The statement, however, warned the security agencies that “the NDC is capable of using agent-provocateurs in NPP T-shirts or colours to just cause trouble and blame it on the NPP.”

The statement said that during the recent by-election at Amenfi West, some NDC supporters were seen wearing NPP T-shirts and “it took some level headedness to prevent serious troubles”.
