NPP cautioned against splitting of the party

Accra, Aug.5, GNA- A man of God at the weekend, cautioned the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), to approach the selection of a flagbearer for the 2008 General Election with circumspection in order to avoid the splitting of the Party.

Apostle Schambach Amaniampong, Leader of the Christian Redemption International Ministry (CRIM), told the Ghana News Agency that from the realms of the spirit, the NPP stands a chance of winning the Presidential and Parliamentary elections if members and supporters of the Party do not approach the selection of a presidential candidate as “a do and die affair”.

“2008 can also spell the doom of the NPP. The over 20 presidential aspirants must therefore exercise caution in the manner they go about their campaign for power,” he warned.

Commenting on the energy crisis, he said God is beginning to reward the efforts of Christians who prayed for water to fill the Akosombo Hydro-electricity dam.

Apostle Amaniampong said a lot of investors had lined up to do business in Ghana, but had adopted a wait-and-see attitude till the crisis is over.

Meanwhile CRIM had organised a graduation ceremony for 13 students of its Spiritual Welfare Institute, representing the 13th batch of graduates from the school, since it was established in 2003. The school has so far passed out 2,000 graduates.

Apostle Amaniampong asked the graduates to focus on their vision for Ghana and not on issues that could hamper the progress of the nation.

The Guest Speaker for the occasion, Bishop Antwi Bosiako, from the US also cautioned the graduates not to sap their energies by being preoccupied by perceived threats from the devil.

“Let your main focus be on your vision and find ways and strategies to accomplish them.”
