NPP candidate donates to education directorate

Mr. Charles Konadu-Yiadom, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Nkoranza South, has presented 500 class registers and 10 boxes of chalk to the Nkoranza Municipal Directorate of Education at Nkoranza.

The items valued at GHC3000 were to ensure effective running of basic schools within the Municipality.

Presenting the items, Mr. Konadu-Yiadom emphasized that his gesture was to support the education of the pupils and Junior High School students to help them become responsible future leaders.

He said the offer was “just the beginning, ” and gave the assurance of donating additional 5,000 exercise books to the Directorate for distribution to basic schools in the area.

He called for collaborative efforts by parents and teachers (PTAs) towards the training and teaching of school children to ensure discipline in schools.

Mr. Godfred Axolu, Nkoranza Municipal Director of Education, thanked Mr. Konadu-Yiadom for his vision and foresight towards the promotion of education in the Municipality.

Mr. Axolu said the gesture was a step in the right direction, “as the education of the country has nothing to do with party politics..”

He urged other community leaders to emulate Mr. Konadu-Yiadom’s example, and support educational programmes in their communities, because “the education of the youth is the responsibility of all stakeholders.”
