Confusion erupted at the Electoral Commission (EC) District Office at SCC in the Ga South Municipal Assembly of the Greater Accra Region where people have gathered to do transfer of votes Tuesday.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) agent, Ekow Entie, who was there to observe and monitor the exercise, attempted to guarantee for some of the people participating in the exercise.
An eyewitness, Yaw Issah who was also at the office to have his vote transferred told Onua FM’s Yen Sempa that those around objected to the decision by the NPP agent to aid and stand surety for people.
This infuriated those siding with the NPP agent leading to absolute disorder at the EC office.
But reacting to the allegation, Ekow Entie said the people misunderstood him when he went to the center, adding, he did not go there to stand surety for anyone.
He explained that he was only going his normal duty of monitoring the exercise on behalf of the New Patriotic Party.
Calm however returned to the office for the transfer exercise to continue.
