NPP, AFAG must apologize to Afari-Gyan – Bernard Mornah

Bernard Mornah, General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), says the opposition New Patriotic Party, together with the group; Alliance for Accountable Government (AFAG), should render an apology to the Electoral Commissioner for running down his outfit.

He rubbished AFAG’s calls on the Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, to resign from his post and believed the court ruling has vindicated the Commission.

The calls, he stated, are “frivolous, a call without merit; a call that tends to put freedom of expression to absurd limits. And I feel that if we continue to allow such right to people,” they will undermine democracy because “people will out-speak the course of democracy.”

Speaking in an interview with Radio Gold, Bernard Mornah noted that the opposition party members own the Electoral Commission an apology for failing to prove beyond doubt their allegations against it.

“It is important for AFAG and the NPP to apologize to the Electoral Commission for thinking that the Electoral Commission was wrong and the court has gone to prove that the Electoral Commission was right in their declaration…AFAG own the people of Ghana an apology; the NPP own the people of Ghana an apology for wasting our time.”
