Bomaa (B/A) June 21, GNA- Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held separate demonstrations at Bomaa and Yamfo in the Tano North District of the Brong-Ahafo Region, against the nomination and confirmation of Mr Nicholas Anane-Agyei as District Chief Executive. The placard bearing activists clad in red were escorted by the Police.
Adressing the protestors after the four-hour demonstration at Bomaa, Mr Paul Kwasi Twumasi, appealed to the President to appreciate the concerns of people at the grassroots in the decision-making process for the progress of the party. The spokesman accused Mr Anane-Agyei of not being fair in the distribution of development projects in the district during his first four-year term in office.
“It is no wonder that majority of the communities in the constituency have raised hell over his re-nomination to govern the newly-created district with the capital at Duayaw-Nkwanta, his home town”, he said. “There has not been any improvement in the road network in the area during his administration and the only access road constructed six months ago has proved to be shoddy work as the culverts have started falling apart.”
At Yamfo, the Spokesperson Mr Kwasi Agyei, asked the President to take a second look at the appointment of Mr Anane-Agyei to avoid the disintegration of the party in the area. The protestors have sent a protest letter against the nomination and confirmation of Mr Anane-Agyei to the Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chief of Staff, Mr Kwadwo Mpiani.
