NPP Activist Invokes 10 Deities Over Acid Attack

The Techiman South Constituency NPP Communication Director, John Donyina has invoked eight deities to deal with all those involved in the acid attack on Peter Mensah, the Techiman North Constituency organizer of the NPP.

Speaking at a well-attended press conference at the constituency party office on Monday, Mr. Donyina said the party has totally lost confidence in the Municipal Police Service and as traditionalist the only option left for him was to curse the perpetrators of the crime.

The deities—Antoa Nyamaa, Techiman Bokyerewaa, Kranka Brakune, Ampoma Gyanbibi, Fakwasi Aburaa, Nkoranza Adinkra Kosopre, Kintampo Nyame and Sesiman Ntoa—were to cast a spell on anyone who was involved in the dastardly act.

“If these deities are able to enable us identify the culprits, we promise to give them a sheep each to appease them,” he said.

Holding a bottle of schnapps and an egg, the constituency communication director knelt on his knees, recited incantations, and poured a quantity of the schnapps on the ground and topped it up by hitting the uncooked egg on the liquor.

Addressing the media after the invocation, Mr. Donyina recounted several insistences where the supporters of the NDC attacked NPP members and went free because the police refused to take action.

Mr. Donyina said in the run-up to the 2008 general the Techiman North Constituency, Communication Director, Everson Donkor was attacked and seriously wounded after a political talk show at ASTA FM a local FM station within the Techiman Municipality but the police failed to arrest the culprits who were identified by Mr. Donkor.

He said he himself was attacked with machetes during the biometric registration exercise but when he reported the case to the police, no action was taken.

Mr. Donyina said that apart from the curse he invoked on the perpetrators of the acid attack, the NPP was ready and would surely retaliate to serve notice to the NDC that they too could bite.
