NPP activist calls on flag bearers to seek advice from Kufuor

Bolgatanga, July 26, GNA – A 65-year-old activist of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Israel Daud Asigri, has said whoever emerges as the presidential candidate of the party should seek wisdom from former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

He said in a statement that the former president commanded not only considerable amount of wisdom and knowledge that could be tapped to enable the party recapture power in 2012 but also had influence.

“We in the party must not lose sight of the fact that the former President has a very important role to play in the success of the party in the 2012 election and whoever is elected to lead the party must see former President Kufuor as an asset to work hand in hand with for the party to succeed,” Mr Asagri said.

He called on the five aspirants to see themselves as one people and to support anybody who wins the slot, come August 07.

Mr Asagri appealed to the aspirants to talk to their campaign teams to desist from using provocative language against each other since it was not a healthy development to the party and might affect performance in 2012.
