Accra, Oct. 12, GNA – An Accra High Court on Tuesday adjourned to October 13 a case in which an aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate is praying it to annul the Party’s primary at Ablekuma South Constituency.
Mr Alex Bruce-Appiah of Dansoman, the Aspiring Candidate, is pleading with the Court to order the rerun of the primary, which was held on July 25.
Mr Nii Akwei Bruce-Thompson, counsel for Mr Bruce-Appiah, said the purported results of the said primaries should be cancelled since a wrong delegates’ list was used.
He stated that 70 Polling Station Chairmen, who had the right to vote in the election, were disenfranchised and there was no representative from the Electoral Commission (EC).
He said the primary was held while there was a case involving Madam Theresa Tagoe, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), pending at the Court.
He, therefore, prayed to the Court for an injunction to restrain Madam Tagoe from filing her nomination for Election 2004.
