November 15 Public Holiday

Monday November 15 has been declared a public holiday a statement from the Ministry of the Interior said on Thursday and urged the public to observe the day as such.

The statement signed by Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyeman, Sector Minister, said: “The President by Executive Instrument has declared Monday, November 15 as a public holiday in view of the fact that the celebration of the Eid Ul-Fitr, which is a Statutory Public Holiday, falls on Saturday, November 13.

Meanwhile a press statement by Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim, Chairman of the Islamic Council, has urged all Muslims to pray and work towards peaceful elections in the country.

It further called on Muslims worldwide to pray for peace to prevail among the warring factions in La Cote d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone and the Middle East.
