Notorious car snatcher dies in a shoot-out with police

Kumasi, Nov.9, GNA – Kofi Nti, a 28-year-old notorious car snatcher in Kumasi, was on Tuesday afternoon killed in a shoot-out with the Police at Dichemso, a suburb of Kumasi.

Nti has been on the wanted list of both the Ashanti and Greater Accra regional police Commands for some time now.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Patrick Timbila, Ashanti Regional Police Commander told the media at a press conference in Kumasi on Wednesday that, the police had information that Nti and his gang had been spotted at a place near Gulder Hotel at Dichemso.

He said as soon as the Police reached the area, the gang shot at them and the Police had to return fire resulting in the killing of Nti.

Emmanuel Kwasi Gyasi, a member of the gang, was arrested while another, who sustained a bullet wound,’
