The Somanya Police have arrested a notorious armed robber who is ring leader of a robbery gang which operates in Eastern region and parts of Greater Accra.
The suspect, Nana Tumpuni, was arrested by the Nkawkaw Police and has been handed over to the Somanya Police.
The suspect is said to be leading armed robbery operation in Somanya, Ashaiman, Nkawkaw and Madina areas.
According to the Somanya District Police Commander, ASP Isaac Otsin, the suspect is behind many phones and bag snatching thefts as well as robberies in Somanya area.
He said the suspect is being processed for court, however he called on victims of robberies in the area to visit the Police station for identification.
He said, so far, three victims have identified the suspect.
