Notice to Visa and Passport applicants in UK

The Ghana High Commission UK wishes to inform the public that since June 2011, the Passport and Immigration Section of the Mission has successfully implemented an online application regime. This action has been taken to meet the increasing number of visa and passport applications at the Mission specifically during certain periods of the year e.g. Easter, summer and Christmas.

To effectively deal with these numbers and ensure the Mission adheres to Health and Safety regulations as well as Security considerations, the appointment system has been introduced to allow the submission of applications strictly by pre-booked online appointment. Processing of visa and passport applications may take longer than usual during peak periods. Applicants are therefore advised to apply well in advance.

We encourage all those who are unable to obtain their preferred appointment date to apply by post. Such applications will be processed within the standard application period and returned to the applicants using a secured courier service (DX Secure – www.thedx.com) at no extra cost to the applicant. Applicants will be kept informed of their application status via sms and email communication.

The Mission advises that applicants who are unable to use the internet seek the assistance of persons they hold in trust.

Applicants with appointments are advised to arrive at 104 Highgate Hill, N6 5HE, London not earlier than thirty minutes prior to their appointment time with all the required documents and the appointment slip from the Mission’s official website, www.ghanahighcommissionuk.com

For express service, applicants should book appointments earlier than 11:00 am to ensure that their applications can be processed within the requested time.

Applicants will be given a collection date for passports and visas on submitting their applications at the counter.

The online appointment system is available 24 hours at www.ghanahighcommissionuk.com .

Thank you for your kind cooperation
