Nothing will change my client’s case – Woyome’s Counsel

Lead Counsel for freed businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome, Ken Anku says he strongly believes nothing will vary the judgment handed in favour of his client, insisting that he has a strong case.

He said justice has been served in what he says is the ruling of the three wise men[Justices] of the Court of Appeal.

He reiterated in an interview with State broadcaster GBC that Mr Woyome is now a happy man and believes in the justice system.

A three-member Court of Appeal Justices Thursday dismissed an appeal by the state seeking criminal charges against businessman, Alfred Woyome in the protracted case regarding the GHC51 million judgment debt payment.

The court agreed with the ruling by Justice Ajet Nassam on 12th March 2015 in which the embattled self-acclaimed financier of the ruling party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) was acquitted and discharged unconditionally of all two charges, causing financial loss to the state and defrauding by false pretense.

The appellate court gave the ruling after the state failed to prove its case.
