Not all former NDC appointees are corrupt – Nana Obiri Boahen

Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen has stated not every appointee in the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) under former President John Mahama engaged in corrupt practices.

“There is a new group in NDC which is now calling for the prosecution of past officials by the current NPP government. So you cannot conclude that everybody in the party is bad” he pointed out.

General Secretary of Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Opuni Frimpong had alleged that politicians of all classes in the country are same and are potential criminals.

“What NPP is doing is not different from that of NDC. If NDC people are murderers, NPP people too are murderers. …they all insult so nobody should think one is doing better than the other” the clergy man concluded.

“All these are members of various churches in the country and we should know that we have a lot of work to do as religious leadership. But we should not demonize them”

But the outspoken Deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen disagrees jumping into the defense of some individual appointees who served under the past Mahama-led administration.

“Former President and founder of NDC on his June 4 celebration stated the party lost power because of sickening greed, corruption, selfishness among other things. So how do you conclude that everybody in the party is corrupt” Nana Obiri Boahen asked.

“I disagree entirely with the views of Rev. Dr. Opuni Frimpong that all politicians are same and corrupt” he stated on Sikka FM in Kumasi.
