Norvisi Development Union receives hospital beds

Nyive (V/R), July 30, GNA – Captain George Nfordjo (RTD), the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, on Saturday presented 14 remote control hospital beds and 14 mattresses to the Norvisi Development Union (NORDU) at Nyive near Ho.

The items, which were part of medical equipment donated to the Ho Central Constituency by the Deprived Villages Support Programme, a Denmark non-governmental organization, would benefit seven health facilities in the 12 communities that formed NORDU. Capt Nfordjo promised to resuscitate the once popular Nyive Market by investing 500 million cedis from his share of MP’s Common Fund and HIPC into its reconstruction.

He said he was optimistic that once it started functioning the market would restore economic activities to the community and spare the people the trouble of having to send their produce to far away markets including those in Togo.

He appealed to the chiefs to release land for the youth to cultivate foodstuffs and vegetables to keep the market active. Togbe Akoto IV, the Chairman of NORDU who received the items, expressed gratitude to the MP.
