Northern Region NDC wishes NPP well in its National Congress

Tamale, Feb. 26, GNA – The Northern Region branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sent a good will message to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and called for a successful National Delegates’ Congress in Kumasi.

Alhaji Imoro Issifu Alhassan Umar, Northern Regional Secretary of NDC told the GNA in a telephone interview on Friday that, “I want to specifically advise delegates from the Northern Region to comport themselves before, during and after the congress. They should just stay away from acts of violence since people always say we are violent.”

“What happened during the NPP Northern Regional congress where a police man was allegedly shot should not be repeated anywhere including the Kumasi congress,” he said. He said the NDC needed a strong opposition and that if the NPP continued to be divided and fighting itself, it could not effectively play its democratic role to deepen democracy in the country.

Alhaji Umar appeal to Ghanaians to support the government to implement its development agenda and said, “The national cake would surely be distributed equitably for the electorate to renew NDC mandate in 2012.”
