Northern Region Declares Support for Ladi Nylander

For some time now, we the CPP constituency and Regional executives in Northern Region have been monitoring developments in the CPP and how some National Executive aspirants are going about their campaign in their bid to lead the party. It is interesting how all these people have been employing various tactics and ploys to ensure that we the delegates give them our mandate.

Until Chairman Ladi Nylander came into the scene, CPP had been dormant, unattractive and largely dull political party in Ghana. It was under the leadership of Mr. Ladi Nylander that we saw a well organised competitive CPP campaign in the 2008.

Notwithstanding the challenges he encountered from within the party, Mr. Nylander has demonstrated resilience and commitment to duty at all times and this is what has endeared him so much to us.

After listening to all the chairman aspirants, we have decided to give Mr. Ladi Nylander a second term of two years to complete his agenda. It was during his administration that the party has seen real discipline, proper role of the elders (council of elders), re-branding of the CPP, Shadow Cabinet Ministers, early congress and the fielding of credible parliamentary candidates, proper accountability and even the progress made with the Nkrumahist Unity talk.

Why should we experiment with the chairmanship of the party at this crucial time when we are confronted with the 2012 elections?

We, the Northern Region CPP delegates, hereby declare our unadulterated support for Chairman Ladi Nylander and urge delegates from other regions to vote massively for Mr. Ladi Nylander at the party’s congress to protect, preserve and promote the Convention People’s Party.

God bless us all.
