Northern Region CPP picks executives in three constituencies

Walewale (NR), Oct. 14, GNA – The Northern Regional Secretariat of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) at the weekend organised primaries in three constituencies and elected executives to steer the affairs of the party towards winning the election 2008.

The constituencies are Walewale, Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo and Nalerigu/Gambaga where, according to party members, had now turned against the NPP and the NDC and would vote for the CPP in the next year’s elections.

Mr. Albert Atutiga, Northern Regional Chairman of the party who went round with other regional executives to conduct the elections promised Ghanaians good governance, poverty alleviation and all-inclusive governance if the CPP won the elections.

He said Ghanaians were suffering under the NPP and that the only the economy could be salvaged was to reject both NPP and the NDC and renew their faith in the CPP to win the 2008 elections.

At Walewale constituency, Seidu Mahama was elected as chairman, Wahab Jalala, secretary and Azaratu Iddrisu as Women’s Organizer, while Shani Danladi became the treasurer and Shani Sulemana youth organizer. Mr. Duut Martin Kombien, was elected as chairman at the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo constituency, Biiberib Konlan and Nachiman John were elected secretary and organizer respectfully while Nyunmon K. Emmanuel and Biigba Asibi were won the positions of Youth Organiser and women’s organiser.

At the Nalerigu/Gambaga constituency, Dokurugu Morroco, became the chairman, Baba Yahaya secretary, Philip Buntugu, organiser, Mary Yaw, women’s organiser and Mumuni Alhassan, treasurer. Albert Atutiga advised the new executives to work hard with commitment to win more souls for the party to win the Parliamentary seats in those constituencies as well as the Presidential votes to enable the party form strong government in 2009.
