Nomination based on contributions to NPP- Christine

The President?s nominee for Science and Environment, Christine Churcher has said that her nomination was in recognition of her contribution to the NPP?s first term in office.

Ms. Christine Churcher formerly Minister of State in Charge of Basic and Girl child education said she believed she excelled in her office as such she was not surprised that President Kufuor nominated her for that position.

The MP for Cape Coast is one of three females nominated so far for ministerial positions.

Observers say Ms. Churcher?s nomination could be described as an appreciation of the central region for the support they gave the NPP during the last elections. But Ms. Churcher disagrees with this assertion.

She told Joy News that she believes her track record has earned her the position.

Ms. Churcher said she recognizes the challenges ahead as she takes office and as such she is adequately psyching herself up for them.
