Nobody does business with a poor man – Chief Dele

Chief Dele Momodu publisher of popular lifestyle magazine Ovation believes nobody will do business with a poor. Chief Dele Momodu, a media owner and businessman and a one-time presidential aspirant in Nigeria has had the experience of going through a different phase in life before he became a successful businessman.

Speaking exclusively to 3news.com, Chief Dele stated that business involves money which a poor man wouldn’t be able to bring on board.

He also explained that there are a lot of factors which come into play during business.

“Your courage, comportment, appearance would affect how people will do business with you. If I go now to negotiate with an MD of a bank in Ghana and I start by saying I’m a poor man, he wouldn’t talk to me. “Business is about money and even if you are intelligent your appearance at all time counts. Looking good does not mean a lot of money.

“I’m wearing my fabric this morning and I’m sure it’s less than maybe GHc40 but the way I’m wearing it with my cap makes me look like a chief but if I came here wearing tattered clothes nobody would have spoken to me.”

“In business you may be lucky to find willing partners and if you don’t just go into it alone and later people will come and put money into your business. “Nobody does business with a poor man because business is about money”.
