Nobody can destool me – Daasebre Oti Boateng

The Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Oti Boateng has called the bluff of some members of the New Juaben Royal Family over claims to destool him.

Some of the Royal members have hinted of his possible destoolment after he performed traditional rites for the Akwantukese Festival at the Akwadum River instead of River Suhyen.

The change in venue follows security concerns by the Eastern Regional Security Council.

But Daasebre Oti Boateng says the rituals he has performed over the years are as a matter of convention other than customary law.

In an interview with XYZ News through the Akwadumhene, Nana Osei Wusu Agyare II, Daasebre Oti Boateng said there is no norm that states that the ritual must be performed in the Suhyen River.

“This Akwantukese was initiated by Daasebre, so he brought all these things so there is no norm or traditional values indicating that rituals must be done here or there” Akwadumhene, Nana Osei Wusu Agyare II.
