No terror attack should break our spirit – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has commiserated with the United Kingdom following the Westminster attack that left five dead in London on Wednesday 22 March.

“We are in solidarity with the UK following the terrorist attack on Westminster. No amount of cowardly terror should break our spirit,” Mr Mahama said in a tweet.

In the attack on Wednesday, a man drove a car along a pavement in Westminster, knocking down pedestrians, leaving dozens injured. He then stabbed a policeman before he was shot dead by police in the grounds of Parliament.

The attacker has been identified as Khalid Masood, 52.

According to the British police, 50 people were injured and two are still critical.

Assistant Deputy Commissioner Mark Rowley, Scotland Yard’s top anti-terror officer, added that 31 people had received hospital treatment.

One is considered to have life-threatening injuries.
