No King Owns Ningo-Prampram – Sam George Warns

Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam ‘Dzata’ George, has issued a firm warning against what he describes as false and provocative claims of kingship and land ownership within the constituency.

In a strongly worded statement posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the MP declared that no individual or group holds legitimate traditional rulership or territorial rights over Ningo-Prampram lands, outside of the recognised Great Ningo Kingdom.

“No ‘King’ has any kingdom or land in the Ningo-Prampram Constituency. Disregard any such claims,” he wrote.

“The ancient Great Ningo kingdom is welcoming to all who visit us but none is welcome to lay claim to a kingdom here.”

The tweet, which has since garnered over 220,000 views, comes amid growing public concerns over attempts by unidentified individuals or groups to assert royal authority or traditional control over parts of the constituency, a move seen by many locals as a potential spark for unrest.

Mr George reaffirmed the community’s openness to outsiders but warned that the region’s hospitality should not be mistaken for weakness.

“Rest assured, we are a hospitable people, but our hospitality CANNOT be taken for granted. Let calm prevail,” he added.

As tensions simmer, all eyes are now on traditional leaders and state officials to uphold order and preserve the legacy of the Great Ningo Kingdom, one of Ghana’s oldest and most respected traditional communities.
