No increment in school fees

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports on Friday said the approved fees for the 2003 – 2004 academic year for basic and senior secondary schools remained the same.

A statement signed by Mr Dan Osman, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, urged parents and guardians to pay only the approved fees.

“You should not pay any arrears, we direct that any such demand from any Head of Institution should be reported to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service for appropriate action to be taken.” The statement said the approved fees would be published in the dailies due course.

The Ministry also said allowances for Teacher Trainees of the Teacher Training Colleges had been approved for payment by the end of May 2004 and appealed to the Trainees to be patient.
