No funds to rehabilitate local R/C Primary School at Asantanso

Techiman (B/A), April 27, GNA – The people at Asantanso in Techiman municipality are finding it difficult to access funds to rehabilitate the six-classroom shed of the local Roman Catholic Primary School whose roofing was ripped off by a rainstorm last week.

Mr. John Kwasi Kwao, Assembly member for Baamiri and Asantanso told the Ghana News Agency at Techiman that the storm ripped off the roofing of the school and property destroyed was estimated at more than six million cedis.

He said the people had approached the Municipal Assembly for assistance but their efforts had been in vain.

The Assembly Member expressed fears that pupils of the school might have to stay at home for the third term, as there was no place for them to attend classes and appealed to the Assembly to assist the people. With the start of the rains, the pupils cannot stay under trees to study, Mr Kwao added and called for support from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) towards the rehabilitation of the school.
