No election flashpoint in Volta Region – Police

There are no election flashpoints in Volta region, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Redeemer Dedzo, Volta Regional Police Commander, has said.

He said all 114 perceived flashpoints were under control by a regional election taskforce saying “we simply do not have any flashpoint”.

ACP Dedzo was addressing a durbar of personnel during a working visit of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) as part of the Police’s “election dialogue series”.

He said the regional election taskforce had done threats analysis on the flashpoints and “ready for action”.

“We are simply in control and maintaining the tempo,” the Regional Commander said.

The IGP, Dr John Kudalor commended the Regional Command for the foresight and for reducing crime in the region.

He tasked all unit heads to be proactive in addressing welfare concerns of personnel and engage media and youth groups for peaceful elections.

The IGP warned personnel of the Service against taking partisan positions and asked them to be firm and fair in their operations.
