No Church service for Living Grace Ministry on December 7

Fiapre (B/A), Nov. 28, GNA – The Living Grace Ministry Church in Sunyani, has directed that its branches should not organize Church service on Sunday, December 7 in view of upcoming elections. Reverend Dr. Richard Owusu Akyeaw, General Overseer of the Church, who announced this at Fiapre, near Sunyani, said members of the Church would worship on Saturday December 6 to so that they could exercise their franchise on election day, adding that they would pray for peaceful elections on that Saturday. He urged all branches to comply with the directive and asked all members to exercise their franchise on December 7. Rev. Dr. Owusu Acheaw asked Christians to pray for peaceful elections and avoid confrontation and violence on December 7. He urged the electorate to consider the elections as an opportunity for them to contribute to the consolidation of the country’s elections. Rev. Dr. Akyeaw said “The 2008 Election is a test for us to prove to other African countries and the world that we have come of age in managing our affairs”. He noted that peace “is an essential component of development”, and appealed to all politicians and party supporters to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections.
