No army cadet dead in Amedzofe accident – GAF

The Military High Command has dismissed reports that six army cadets have been killed in an accident at Amedzofe in the Volta Region.

There have been reports in the media that six cadets who are part of a group of twenty four officer cadets on a routine navigational exercise had lost their lives in a road accident.

But the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces, Col. Aggrey Quarshie, though admitted there was an accident, refuted claims of death.

He explained that some syndicate (cadets) were being transported from one location to another to start their exercise when the unfortunate incident occurred.

“Fourteen have been treated and discharged, ten of them are still in the hospital in stable condition being observed. The driver and the Physical Instructor are also being observed. I can confirm that we’ve not lost anybody.”
