No Akufo-Addo no vote for NPP in 2016 – Ashanti NPP

The Ashanti regional executives of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) have appealed to the 2012 Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to lead the party in the 2016 general elections.

According to them, the party risks losing support in the region if Nana Addo does not lead it next presidential election.

The executives say he is the best person to wrestle power from the governing National Democratic Congress and put the NPP back into power.

Ashanti Regional Chairman, Frederick Fredua Antoh who led a delegation to the residence of the flagbearer in Accra said, members of the NPP in the Ashanti Region have vowed not to vote for the party should he decline to contest for the 2016 polls.

According to Joy News’ Elton John Brobbey who was at Nana Akufo-Addo’s Nima residence, the former flagbearer called for party unity and said he is still reflecting on his political future and will make his decision known soon.

Nana Akufo-Addo, in his acceptance speech after the Supreme Court dismissed a petition he filed challenging the results of the 2012 polls, said he was taking a break to decide on his future in politics.
