NLC not committed to addressing our concerns – GMA

The Ghana Medical Association has questioned the commitment of the National Labour Commission at ensuring doctors receive their conversion difference allowance.

The money is meant to compensate Doctors who got worse off after their migration onto the single spine salary structure.

The GMA has threatened a strike on March 3 to push for the payment.

It is accusing the Commission of failing to enforce its own ruling and order to the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to that effect.

The NLC has indicated that it will go to court again to ensure the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission enforce the order.

Deputy General Secretary of the GMA, Dr Justice Yankson in an interview with XYZ News said the Labour Commission can’t take doctors for granted.

“We have put our cards down, and we still stand by what we said…it’s been nine months and this is not the first time the case is being thrown out for want of prosecution; this is actually the second time”.
