Nkwaeso initiates development projects

Nkwaeso (B/A), Sept. 25, GNA – The Chiefs and people of Nkwaeso in the Techiman Municipality have initiated a development scheme to improve their standards of living. It includes scholarship for brilliant but needy students to enable them to attend Senior High School, promoting sporting activities and the construction of a building for the traditional council. Nana Fosi Gyan II, chief of Nkwaeso, said these at the celebration of the annual “Fomemene Yam Festival” of the people in Nkwaeso. He said the traditional council would work hard and provide educational materials for basic schools in the area to promote teaching and learning. Nana Gyan expressed worry about the poor standards of education in the area and urged parents to send their children, especially the girls, to school and ensure that they refrain from anti-social activities. He appealed to married couples to unite and love each other to ensure the proper functioning of their families. Nana Gyan said he would support football clubs in the municipality that would qualify for the premier division.
