Nkosuohene Appeals to Kwahu Citizens

THE NKOSUOHENE of Obo in the Kwahu traditional area, Barima Adanse Twum I, has reiterated his appeal to all Kwahu citizens to contribute their quota to develop the area since government alone cannot shoulder the problems facing the people.

In an interview with the Chronicle at a fund-raising harvest organized by Obo citizens resident in Accra and Tema, he said government resources cannot cater for the numerous problems facing the country, so it has become necessary for communities to pool resources together to supplement government efforts to enhance development in the country.

He was not happy that most Obo citizens living outside Accra and Tema have turned deaf ears to the call to come home and assist in development projects in the town.

He urged them to change their stand since the town belongs to all of them.

He further urged them to form organized groups and contribute positively to the town’s development.

According to Barima Twum, the amount realized at the harvest, which was over ?78 million, would be used to complete the Obo Community Centre.

He stated that the amount may not complete the project, but he and other colleagues would do their best to complete it during next year’s Easter festivities, for commissioning.

He thanked all those who contributed in diverse ways to ensure the success of the harvest.

He said apart from the community centre the town is embarking on other projects and, therefore, called on citizens of the town to contribute towards this goal.
