Nkoranze District invests 500 million in education and health

The Nkoranza District Assembly has invested 500 million cedis it received as part of the one billion cedis allocated to it under the HIPC fund in education and health projects.

Mr Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, District Chief Executive, told the Ghana News Agency that accommodation was being provided for the midwife at the rural clinic at Bonsu.

A block of six classrooms and a block of three classrooms are also under construction at Nkoranza for the local preparatory ‘a’ primary and Odumase Catholic Junior Secondary schools respectively.

Mr Ampofo-Twumasi said the district assembly was determined to provide better education facilities to encourage teachers to accept postings to the area.

Mr George Ampeinti, assembly member, complained that the junior secondary school block in the area was in a bad state and appealed to the DCE to assist in the construction of a block of three classrooms.

Mr Kwaku Amoah-Tutu, Circuit Supervisor, commended the community for forming an educational committee to encourage and support students.
