Nkoranzans in Japan donate Ambulance

A group of 17 citizens of Nkoranza based in Japan led by Mr. Enoch Adjei Yeboah has donated an ambulance to Nkoranza District Directorate of Health Service to improve health service delivery to the people.

Mr. Kwame Amporfo-Twumasi, Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkoranza South on behalf of the donors presented the vehicle to the Omanhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area, Okatakyie Agyemang Kudom, 1V.

The MP disclosed that the gesture followed an appeal he made to the citizens during a visit by a parliamentary delegation to that country when he mentioned the health challenges of the Nkoranza District.

Mr. Amporfo Twumasi commended the citizens for their hospitality to the delegation and lauded their gesture as very unique and impressive. Okatakyie Agyemang Kudom called on the District Director of health service to ensure the proper maintenance of the vehicle to enhance its lifespan.

He commended the donors for their concern for the welfare of the peo= ple as well as the development of Nkoranza. “Such good and shining examples of citizens show they are responsibl= e persons who care for the development of Nkoranza”, he said and urged othe= r citizens to emulate them. service expressed appreciation for the continued support of citizens of t= he area resident abroad towards the health needs of the people. He said he had witnessed the donation of three ambulances to the district by non-resident citizens since he assumed responsibility and disclosed the vehicles would be detailed to deal with referral cases, especially involving pregnant women. Mr. Hinneh said the District Directorate would ensure such service would be free of charge to help check maternal and infant mortality.
