Nkoranza South assembly fails to confirm President’s nominee

Nkoranza (B/A), May 11, GNA – Members of the Nkoranza South District Assembly, at a meeting at Nkoranza, failed to confirm Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, President’s nominee as District Chief Executive (DCE). The nominee had 17 out of the 32 votes cast, shot of 65 per cent needed for him to get the nod.

The assembly that would reconvene in 10 days to decide the fate of Mr Agyekum, however, elected Mr. Isaac Asirifi Kudom as the new Presiding Member. Before the voting Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, urged the assembly members to confirm the nominee to enable the assembly to start implementing its development programmes. Mr. Eric Opoku, Deputy Regional Minister, was also present to observer the balloting.
