Nkoranza North NPP educates supporters

Boabeng (B/A), Oct. 20, GNA – Executive members of the Nkoranza North Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have embarked on a vigorous campaign in the communities to canvass for votes for the Party’s Parliamentary candidate, Mr Eric Amoateng in Election 2004. The Party’s leaders are also using the campaign to impress upon their followers to be self-disciplined and to comport themselves during the electioneering process.

Mr Daniel Kwaku Akowuah, Constituency Secretary of the NPP, told the Ghana News Agency at Boabeng, near Busunya that they were sure of capturing the Parliamentary Seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Akowuah, however, expressed concern about the decision of an NPP member, Mr Prince Ofosu Adjei, who lost in the primary election, to contest as an independent candidate.

Mr Adjei and two others lost to Mr Amoateng two months ago. Mr Akowuah described the decision taken by Mr Adjei to go solo as very unfortunate and “a calculated step to put the members of the Party in the constituency into factions”.

The Constituency Secretary, therefore, urged Party members never to allow themselves to be deceived in any way but to stand firm and rally behind Mr Amoateng to win the elections on the ticket of the NPP. He advised the NPP youth to avoid confrontations with their opponents.
