Nkoranza GNAT secretariat to establish teachers’ village

Nkoranza (B/A) Jan. 22, GNA – The Nkoranza District GNAT Secretariat is to establish a teachers’ village at Nkoranza to enhance their performance.

A plot of land had already been acquired and the teachers will pay special contributions towards the project, Mr James Edjei Biney, District GNAT Secretary, announced at a meeting with the District GNAT Executives at Nkoranza.

He called on the teachers to intensify efforts to improve the low standard of education in the district.

Mr Biney said the secretariat and the District Education Directorate had decided to organize an in-service training for newly trained and pupil teachers.

Mr Biney urged teachers to lead exemplary lives as role models to command respect in the communities to enhance the image of the teaching profession.

Teachers should also dress decently and be punctual at school, he said and asked them to register with the District Teachers’ Welfare Club.
