Nkoranza district targets 43,200 kids for immunization

Nkoranza (B/A), Nov. 2, GNA – About 43,200 children between the ages of zero to 59 months are targeted in the Nkoranza district during the current immunization programme against Polio and malaria. Mr Richard Hinneh, District Director of Health Services, told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza on Thursday that about 70 teams with equal number of Health workers and 207 volunteers had been deployed to administer the vaccines in the communities.

Mr Hinneh said eight supervisors, as well as coordinators were going round to ensure prompt distribution of the vaccines and the smooth administration of the drugs to the children.

The District Director of Health Services stressed the need for the workers to keep accurate record and report of their activities in order that they would capture the realities of the health challenges facing the communities.

Mr Hinneh called on community opinion leaders to join hands with the Ghana Health Service and educate the people about the importance of the immunisation and ensure its patronage.
