Nkoransa NPP women kick against appointment of a woman as MCE

A group that describes itself as ‘Concerned Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’ in the Nkoransa South District of the Brong Ahafo Region has kicked against the appointment of a woman as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area.

The women, clad in red, marched through the principal streets of Nkoransa to send their message across.

According to the leader of group, Jante Kotie, women MCEs appointed over the years have not helped the district.

“We are hearing that the President is going to appoint a woman as MCE, we don’t support this idea because all women MCEs, who have held the position in the past, did not help the area in any away, the recent on being Stella Amoateman under the NDC. We don’t need a woman again. All we want is a competent man”.

She noted that the Nkoransa South Parliamentary seat belonged to the NDC but was snatched from them because the MCE was ineffective.

Madam Kotie noted that if the NPP wants to maintain the seat then a competent man should be appointed as MCE.
