NKAWKAW: MUNICIPAL SECURITY COUNCIL ORDERS DEMOLISHING OF A POPULAR SPOT WHERE 8 PERSONS HAVE SO FAR BEEN KILLED

After a crunch security meeting, which had representatives from Obomeng palace in attendance, the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has resolved to demolish a popular drug haven in Nkawkaw called Boboshanti spot.

The decision follows the recent murder of a young man popularly known as ONE TOSKA, which brought the number of persons who have been gruesomely killed since the inception of the spot to 8.

MCE, Hon Tamimu Halidu says initially they were contemplating on the legalities involved in demolishing structures of such sort. But after going through the Assembly’s by laws, they realized that once the said structure poses a threat to security, the Assembly has the authority to demolish it within 24 hours and so the assembly will take an action within the week.

He says the assembly’s long term plan is to clear all other structures on that parcel of land and so they will engage the occupants until they all arrive at an amicable decision.

Access route to get a machine on site to demolish the said Boboshanti spot is a problem due to how containers and wooden structures have been sited indiscriminately. But the municipal works engineer, Richard Odidja has advised that the assembly can use manpower.
