Nkawie Chief Executive Takes Steps Tio Resolve Dispute

Nkawie (Ash), Aug. 24, – Mr Peter Yaw Mensah, Atwima District Chief Executive, has held a meeting at Nkawie with the chiefs and opinion leaders of five farming communities resettled at Asuofua in the district following the construction of the Barakese Dam to resolve differences between them. He met the chiefs and opinion leaders from Anwoma, Asumnya, Asuofua, Amisare and Kokoben as parts of efforts to reactivate work on a European Union (EU)-funded market and KVIP projects in the area, which have slackened as a result of the differences. Mr Mensah advised the people to unite and work to improve living conditions in the area, since this is the only practical way to attract support from the government. He also called for effective communication among the chiefs to help bring the people together.
