Nkasei, producers of Yefri Tuobodom in trouble

Tuobodom (B/A), June 16, GNA – “Nkasei”, the popular local musical group that produced the album, “Yefri Tuobodom”, is threatened with a suit by the traditional authorities of Tuobodom. The lyrics of the song say that Jinijini is the capital town of Tuobodom and this is the bone of contention.

Mr Kofi Nimo, a royal of Twafokran family of Tuobodom, told a press conference is that “the song is a total disgrace and has discredited the reputation of the chiefs and people of Tuobodom”. Mr Nimo, an accountant of Techiman Zone Council, decried the way Nkasei sought to subject the people of Tuobodom to public ridicule. He said he was seeking advice from the Jinijini Traditional

Authorities and solicitors as to how to go about the case since the song would not promote unity and national development. ”The song is an insult to the people of Tuobodom and Brong Ahafo as a whole.” He noted with regret that whilst some musicians were releasing albums to promote development others were bent on destroying the country’s culture.

Mr Nimo appealed to MUSIGA to properly edit albums of musicians before they are released for public consumption.
