Ninety-eight candidates contest for 33 seats in Bawku

Bawku (U/E) Aug 10, GNA – Ninety-eight candidates have filed their nominations to contest for the 33 electoral areas in the Bawku Municipal Assembly in the September 12 district level elections. Six of these are women.

All the 33 incumbent members are seeking for re-election, Mr Bosco Azu, the Municipal Electoral Officer, told the GNA on Thursday. He said three areas are unopposed whilst Kuka-Zabugu has the highest number of six candidates contesting for the seat. The unopposed areas are Pusiga, Ninkogo-Kutami and Sabon Geri.
