Nine-year-old girl killed by Metro Mass Bus

Nnipaniaye (Ash), Oct 18, GNA – Ama Serwaa, a nine-year-old girl died on the spot when she was knocked down by a Metro Mass Transit bus on the Kumasi-Bibiani highway at Nnipaniaye near Nyinahin. Serwaa, who was not in school yet and lives with her parents in that village, met her death when crossing the road at about 6.30 pm at the weekend.

Superintendent Samuel Aloredey, Nyinahin District Police Commander, told the GNA that the body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for post-mortem examination.

He said the bus with registration number AS 7121 Y was heading from Kumasi towards Nyinahin when it hit the girl killing her instantly. Supt. Aloredey cautioned drivers plying that highway to desist from speeding, bad overtaking and other traffic offences to help reduce the upsurge of motor accidents on that particular highway. 18 Oct. 08
